Fun fact: the overall pass rates for the five civil exams are ascending when you put them in alphabetical order (i.e. the order they're listed in on the NCEES website):

  • Construction - 49%
  • Geotechnical - 53%
  • Structural - 56%
  • Transportation - 60%
  • Water - 62%
Double fun fact: the overall pass rate for the Water Exam is higher than the first-time taker rate for the Construction Exam.  :sniff:

Does anyone know if there is an official reason why repeat taker pass rates are substantially lower than 1st time takers?

This doesn't mean you were one question off does it? From what I've heard you could be 5-6 questions away from passing and still get a 69.
Nobody knows the actual cutoff. I am guessing I might have missed the pass mark by 2-3 questions and cutoff might be around 49-50 for Water Resource Engineering
