So for a booster pump station with a discharge size 12" pumping from one reservoir tank to another. Would the discharge be called a distribution main or transmission main. It is 12" in size run under City streets. I mean according to size it should be a distribution main as all transmission mains are 16" and larger but since its discharge between two tanks would it be transmission main?? Just confused what would be the terminology.

Water distribution network is a term for a portion of a water distribution system up to the service points of bulk water consumers or demand nodes where many consumers are lumped up together. The term water transmission system for a network of pipes, generally in a tree-like structure, is used to convey water from water treatment plants to service reservoirs, and uses the term water distribution system for a network of pipes that generally has a loop structure to supply water from the service reservoirs and balancing reservoirs to consumers. As a good alternative you can also use portable water pumps https://www.sumppumpadvisor.com/portable-sump-pump/.
