Hello everyone,

I am a new member here. I am planning on applying for the PE exam in Virginia. I have four years of experinece. Unfortunately, for one of my previous positions, my supervisr had a PTP certification, not PE. I worked as a traffic engineer in an MPO and there is no other PE who can verify my experience. Does anyone know if Virginia board allows PTPs to verify work experiences?

I'm looking through Virginia regs and I don't actually see a requirement that the supervisor be a PE.

Virginia does have a requirement that at least three references from PEs. This can be a combination of experience verification and/or competence/integrity references.
18VAC10-20-220.2 (PDF page 25 of the regs)
An applicant for the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam shall submit three references from professional engineers currently licensed in a state or other jurisdiction of the United States. The applicant shall only submit references given by professional engineers who have personal knowledge of the applicant's competence and integrity relative to his engineering experience.

FWIW, I've been a PE competence/integrity reference for a Virginia PE applicant.
