Relay Questions

I went through a few practice exams and encountered some relay questions. Normally questions gave you the relay number, and ask you the purpose of the relay. Do I need to remember all the relay numbers? how do I know what type of relay it is during the exam?

At the very least be very familiar with the ANSI numbers included in the Reference Handbook, but a general understanding of relay principles, applications, and theory is reccommended.
