It's been a while since my last brew tour.  The Abita brewery used to have a free tour and all you can drink from the time the doors open until the time the next tour group starts (about 1 hour total).  My wife and I used to get shlammered while there.  Was great.  Now it's $5 per tour and a 4 beer max.

:eek:ldman:

I'm looking forward to being able to hit up different breweries again when I get back to NC. Charlotte had some really good ones and supposedly Raleigh has some great ones as well. Plus, Asheville will be a great weekend getaway.

I would actually like to tour the new New Belgium they are building in Ashville. just to see the differences, supposedly they are not bringing a lot of the CO people out there..  I doubt it will have a bike parking lot with 100+ employee bikes in the parking lot but you never know!

I was never much into Ashville and the Biltmore when I lived in the SE, but I know some people that make that trip twice a year.

Its not a "real" brewery since Coors bought it, but there is also the Blue Moon brewery another block over.  I need to see if either has lunch options!

In all honesty I've only really been to Asheville a couple of times for sightseeing, but I've stopped off there when travelling through several times. I'm planning on taking advantage of the Blue Ridge mountains and other scenic areas that I took for granted while living there.

well your kids were pretty young even 2 years ago but now they can do some hiking!

Its funny but one thing the wife and I want to do when kids are out of house is do a drive along the blue ridge parkway.  Ive don't parts of it but never the whole thing.  The Rockies are more "massive" but in a lot of ways they do not compare to the Applachians

We were just down there a couple weekends ago--it's a beautiful area.  My wife's family used to go to the mountains a lot when she was growing up, and they still have a time share in the area.

trying a whole bunch of different beers with the neighborhood guys.  A porter called Luscious. from the Alchemist (heady topper brewery) was very good.  Cheers.

Went last weekend to this same brew tour to see what has changed and, unfortunately, the four beers to drink are so f'ing small.  Such a disappointment.

yes, poverty beer it was on sale.i better start budgeting for single income!  I also just bought some busch natty light because it was on sale.
We used to buy dent and ding specials of natty light.  Ahhh, college.

keystone was cheap college beer of choice because engineers are nerds

i just drank tequila.

Well tequila and I did a lot of damage back in college, including breakage of some inexplicably high windows.  I don't do tequila anymore.
