Does OH license by discipline or is it just "Professional Engineer?"

I could look it up, but I need to keep the SPAM count high.
Great question! The answer is, not explicitly. There's no public record made of whether you're a civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.

HOWEVER, if you're going to practice in Ohio, the board expects you to have the education, experience, and exam that are relevant to the discipline that you're practicing. If you're practicing in a particular discipline without all three, the board can hand down disciplinary action, and they have on at least a couple of occasions. 

I actually heard about this from a board representative between sessions of the exam, 6 weeks ago. I would have never known otherwise, based on the available information on the board's website.
