VT was usually involved in this thread, to praise his Mets and to predict how they were going to choke in September. In his honor am starting this one and will make a prediction...The Mets will win the World Series this year.

After last nights 10-1 loss, the Rockies are sad to report that they are now mathmatically eliminated from playoff contention.

Los Angeles Angels hitting coach Don Baylor broke his right leg while catching Vladimir Guerrero's ceremonial first pitch Monday night.
Baylor will have surgery Tuesday on his right femur.

The injury cast a pall over Opening Day at Angel Stadium. Baylor, who joined the Angels' coaching staff in the offseason, had to be helped off the field after squatting to catch Guerrero's off-target throw.
 
^^^^ Darn I saw that. It is not the most weird thing? I do not think Baylor was a catcher during his playing days so; What the heck he was thinking? You know, you gotta know your body.
