Position Summary:

My client is looking for a Maintenance Manager for their Tampa, Florida building product manufacturing facility! The Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing direction, coordination and support for the daily execution of the maintenance department’s operating plan with the primary objective of maintaining the Plant’s equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate has been successful in developing, prioritizing and executing maintenance plans!

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Champion the Plant’s “High Performance maintenance Plan.”

• Develop and maintain a sustainable system for the training, evaluation, and development of technicians to meet the plant’s needs, to include providing regular performance feedback.

• Develop and maintain a sustainable system (work flow) that identifies work, plans jobs, schedules jobs, executes, audits, and continuously improves the quality and performance of the work being completed.

• Develop and maintain a sustainable system that prioritizes the plant’s Equipment, and develops and updates Failure Defense Plans.

• Partner with production and other departments to complete new projects and upgrades.

• Support and drive Process Improvement, Employee Involvement and Safety.

• Manage the Maintenance Department’s budget.

• Supervise personnel internal and external to insure maintenance is performed correctly and in a timely manner.

• Analyze maintenance problems and devise solutions to improve plant production, reduce downtime and/or prevent repeat failures.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) along with at least 10 years of demonstrated maintenance experience. Demonstrated experience with predictive maintenance technologies. Two years of demonstrated supervisory experience with proven leadership and teambuilding skills. Advanced communication skills and Microsoft Office suite proficiency. Experience in a union manufacturing environment.

Mid to Senior Level Environmental Scientist

Location: Oahu, Hawaii

This position will assist in a wide range of project management and team support roles including: data compilation, environmental analysis, permit applications, and preparation of plans and reports in support of various environmental compliance activities at commercial/industrial sites, fuels infrastructure sites, and DoD installations.

Education: Bachelor's, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry or a similar field. Minimum of 8 years work experience required.

Required Skills and Experience: Experience in Environmental Initiatives (CAA, CWA, EPA, RCRA, EPCRA & CERCLA a plus), Pollution Prevention, and Hazardous Materials Management. This could include monitoring, compliance reporting, and research. A broad diversity of environmental work experience in private industry, governmental and consulting is preferred.

• An understanding of and the ability to utilize pertinent aspects of chemistry, biological sciences and public health that pertain to the control or elimination of pollutants.

• Excellent written, oral and computer skills required.

• Ability to work in a team environment across multiple locations within the organization.

• Ability to gain support for initiatives that benefit the organization.

• Must be results-oriented with strong initiative.

• Knowledge of ACAD and ArcGIS a plus.

Technical Services Manager – Southwest US:

The Technical Services Manager will lead process improvement efforts at a SW US Building Products Manufacturing Plant by aiding the plant teams in improving the process by identifying root cause, reducing process variation, reducing waste, improving quality, improving productivity and reducing cost. The Technical Services Manager also will provide direct supervision to three Process Engineers and one Quality Manager. The position will be the technical resource for the plant in areas of process specifications, plant operations, production line support, raw materials, and process development. This position requires troubleshooting and leadership ability aimed at resolving equipment issues and improving the plant's financial performance. This person must possess a strong bias for action and commitment to work as one of a team. This individual and / or his / her direct reports will also write operational procedures that detail equipment set-up, operation, maintenance, etc. This individual must have an advanced knowledge of SPC, DOE (MVT), and systematic problem solving skills while employing Six Sigma and / or Qual Pro methodologies.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the execution of quality and process improvement projects and activities using Six Sigma process improvement tools and / or Qual Pro tools.

• Utilize Six Sigma process and / or Qual Pro tools to implement improvements that are statistically validated and sustained through the implementation process.

• Lead process design reviews, raw material qualification and product and process qualification and capability studies. Perform PPA / FMEA on all major process and raw material changes. Provide supervision and guidance to Process Engineer and Senior Process Specialists.

• Plan and execute capital improvements resulting from process improvement projects.

• Deliver cost savings specific to activities and projects. Track monthly and report cost savings and impact to management.

• Train production personnel on Six Sigma process and / or Qual Pro improvement tools.

• Research and implement innovative new process technologies to improve raw material yields and equipment productivity and reliability.

• Write operational procedures that facilitate the reduction of process variation.

A BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical) with at least 5 years of demonstrated related experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Thorough knowledge of statistics, SPC, DOE/MVT, and root cause analysis. Strong interpersonal skills - team organization, leadership and facilitation. Ability to be innovative and to perceive and implement new ideas to improve the process.

Preferred qualifications:

Education: Master’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

Ability to work in the U.S. without current/future need for employer visa sponsorship.

Operations Manager – Southwest US:

My client is looking for an Operations Manager! The Operations Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the functions of the production and maintenance departments so as to achieve optimum performance. The Operations Manager provides formal objectives and measurements for team performance and is involved in machine trouble shooting, efficiency studies, capital improvements and continuous process improvements. During the absence of the Plant Manager, this position will assume Plant Manager responsibilities.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Effectively manage and drive continuous improvement in the Health and Safety Programs, High Performance Maintenance, Process Improvements, Employee Involvement and Environmental compliance.

• Successfully execute the approved manufacturing plan to achieve the mission, objectives and goals within established policies and guidelines.

• Responsible for planning, coordinating and directing manufacturing and maintenance activities to achieve profit growth and investment return goals.

Engineering Manager – SW US

Job Duties:

1. Maintain consistent engineering standards for project execution and design, equipment standards, safety, and cost control. Insure that these standards are met.

2. Coordinate the development and submit the annual capital project plan.

3. Support new product development and manufacturing with equipment/material development, installation and start-up.

4. Ensure a high level of competence and performance within the department.

5. Ensure that complete plant drawings exist and are kept up-to-date.

6. Support and participate in plant problem solving in mechanical, electrical, and instrument areas as requested by Production/Maintenance.

7. Manage the efforts of the Project Engineers to help achieve successful project completion and plant production goals.

8. Maintain excellent communication to insure focus on proper priorities.

9. Ensure the existence of consistent and comprehensive job standards, procedures and quality requirements for the engineering and maintenance groups.

10. Review new equipment designs and recommend modifications to minimize cost, conform to production capabilities and enhance safety.

Job Requirements:

A BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering), with 8+ years experience, at least 6 in a direct engineering discipline, coupled with knowledge/experience leading in a continuous manufacturing process is required. The selected candidate will have a minimum four years experience in managing projects in an industrial setting including management of third party vendors or contractors, project start-up support, training, and documentation.

Production Supervisor - SW US

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Partner with the Production Manager to plan weekly/monthly/quarterly production schedules.

• Coordinate, create and implement specific techniques, Standard Operating Procedures and job plans for major operating tasks.

• Contribute to departmental goal-setting and strategic planning initiatives.

• Maintain a continuous operator training process.

• Generate and lead measurable production improvement initiatives.

• Partner with Human Resources to deliver new hire orientation, training and certification for employees.

• Ensure that training programs stay current with equipment and process changes.

• Act as an internal consultant by providing technical expertise and guidance to salaried and hourly staff.

Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma coupled with 2 – 5 years of demonstrated experience in manufacturing environment. Two years of demonstrated experience with process and quality improvements, demonstrated intermediate communication skills and MS Office proficiency, and three to five years of demonstrated supervisory experience in a plant environment. A willingness to work rotating shifts is required.
