Nice.  Yesterday was my 10-year mark (I remember 06-06-06 was my first day!) as a consultant.  About four months later, I applied for a permanent position.  So, October will be my 10 year mark as a City employee.

4 weeks?  That seems really low, no?  I think I have some absurd amount like 8-10 weeks since I started.  More than I can use so it just gets banked.

I see.  They ended up combing our sick and vacation into 'admin leave' a while ago.  So, it is just one big bucket.

I worked for "state" (territory) government for 13 years, and now 5 years for the feds.  I'm still proud of my 7.5 years in the private sector before that, though.

I got 5 weeks a year of vacation when I was in state gov., and 30 calendar days as a fed (uniformed service).  So that can be either 1 month in a single block, or 6 weeks if I take it 1 week (M-F) at a time.
