If you live in Cobb County go vote for the SPLOST!

or else I will have to summon VT to your IP address..

And my kids like to eat...

Thanks

that is a great thing and I would vote for it if I was lucky enough to live in such an area with the lowest taxes in the state..

1% in a county that only has a 5% sales tax, 4% of which goes to the state

Holy crap!

In Richland County, sales tax is 9%, 10% on prepared food. 6% goes to the state.

And Columbia/Richland county wonders why folks are fleeing to Lexington County.

Ours is 9.25% here, and its higher in some other counties.

Of course, we don't have state income tax or personal property tax. :p

^^^ but you have to live every day with the shame of being responsible for Al Gore, which is an unquaintifiable cost.

True, although I would like to point out that the real reason that Al Gore was never president is not because of Florida, but because he failed to win his home state. Had he won TN's measly 11 electoral votes, he would have won. For some reason, the media at the time tended to gloss over that.

I remember. I'm originally from the upstate. I was amazed when I moved to TN how much difference overall there was in what I paid in state and local taxes (much less here), considering the cost of living is considered pretty even between the two areas.
