New Federal Gov DOE, USACE & USBR Engineer Special Salary Rates published today!!!!

Over two years ago, BPA and WAPA submitted a request to OPM for an increased engineer special salary rate. OPM took two years to review andFINALLY decided to not not only approve it, but to also include ALL of the DOE as well as USACE and USBR. The rates apply to the following:

0801

GENERAL ENGINEER

0810

CIVIL ENGINEER

0830

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

0850

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

0855

ELECTRONICS ENGINEER

and some of their supervisory positions.

The table numbers are 753, 754 and 755 and the pay bump ranges like 7-44% depending on step and grade.

753: https://apps.opm.gov/SpecialRates/2018/Table075305272018.aspx

754: https://apps.opm.gov/SpecialRates/2018/Table075405272018.aspx

755: https://apps.opm.gov/SpecialRates/2018/Table075505272018.aspx

I'm so STOKED! I'm getting about a $20k raise! going from $80,527/year to $99,640! Celebrating with a nice beer right now. Hope this impacts some other engineers here. Chime in if you are one. :)

Apparently they are looking at this at the VA now as well.  Getting conflicting reports from our supervisors/chief on whether it would mean a salary increase, but I'm willing to bet that, this low on the food chain, they don't really know one way or the other.  It would be hard to imagine that you could have different pay scales for Engineers doing the same job between different gov't agencies.  Stranger things have happened though.
