Conflicting Flows - HCM

I was wondering if anyone knows of any sample problems regarding conflicting flows. I'm having a hard time understand this portion of the HCM (unsignalized intersections.) Or if someone can help clarify this topic. Thanks.

I am not sure if that what you are asking for, but look Green Book p.654 and futher. May be this will help
