I'm taking the exam next week.
Any word of advice? suggestions?
Taking it second time and how I wish I had taken notes on the questions that came last time. So stupid of me.
Really scaref of seismic. Done with survey. Life is kind of on hold for this one exam.,
Any help, words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Thank you.

And CONGRATULATIONS to all of you

Don't be afraid to skip and come back. Get the easy stuff answered first pass, medium stuff second pass and the remainder the third.

Also focus on knowing the big stuff.

  • Base Shear
  • Story Drift
  • Rigid and Flexible Diaphrams
  • Wall Anchorage
  • Non-Building Structures
  • Component anchorage
Go over conceptual items, particularly special inspection information

Always check min, max, and special situations when doing any problem. Particularly in base shear problems

And plan for how to celebrate when you pass.

Passed Seismic on my 2nd try! Surreal feeling to be DONE, I feel like I have so much free time now.

Congrats to all who passed and best of luck to those taking it soon!

Kiwi (above) nailed it on the head. Great tips! Time management is key and being strategic in getting the "low-hanging fruits" in the beginning of the exam.
