Since the manual gets into state-specific standards and practices, I don't see it as being very useful in the exam. I didn't look it over at all for the exam.

Though I am familiar with it from my days working in NY.

 
I didn't use it on the exam, either, but it was useful on some of the practice problems. Plus, a lot more than just the named "ten states" use these standards. It's adopted into our regulations, for example. Many of the federal agencies use it when designing facilities, also, such as the Indian Health Services and US Public Health Service.

If you actually had to design a plant or colelction system, it's a very useful reference IMO, and as far as I know it is still a recommended reference for the exam.

It is still a recommended reference for the exam, but so is a piece of rope. I would assume that the rope is to hang yourself during the exam. :hung-037:
