    NCEES 510

I am a bit perplexed with teh answer for 510. I solve this by taking teh FLA which is 65A and multiply that value by 1.15. I get 74.75. I choose 80A as the answer but that is wrong. Where in the NCEES does it say we need to size down?

Output voltage of a full wave rectifier with an open diode

Supposed we are given a full wave rectifier with an RMS input voltage of 120V , what would be the output voltage across the load if one of the diodes were open circuited? I think the rectifier would then operate as a half wave rectifier and the output voltage would be half of the peak voltage...

NEC question #109 Corner grounded delta load

Hello, I came across this question on the NEC practice exam : A 3 phase 3 wire ungrounded 13.2 kV (phase to phase) wye connected source is connected to a balanced delta load that is grounded on CORNER A. The voltage measured between corner B and the ground is most nearly : The answer is 13.2...

    Voltage drop equation confusion

Hi, The equation for voltage drop is I*L/1000[ R*cos(theta) + X*sin(theta)]. But I am confused on when to use the plus or minus sign in between the resistance and reactance?  Different problems in CI show different approaches. Someone please help!
