    Results Over/Under

According to my sources up here in AK, the Board finds out if we passed at the same time the test taker does.  My October scores arrived at 12:42pm (AK time) on Tuesday December 15th. That's almost COB on the East Coast. I forgot about that.  So it could happen at any moment, people! I'm...

" Sometimes honest people lie and cheat..." Huh? I'm pretty sure if you lie and cheat, you ain't honest.

    Two weeks

Agreed. The impression I got from reading the NCEES comments on their FB page was, "those were the rules. you should have read them. suck it."

    Mechanical test

@Bcbillings Sounds like you found yourself an awesome opportunity! Yeah, @Clemson CE has the right idea, we want to move there!  :P  Haha

Where do you work? Are they hiring?  I jump into the "licensed" pay scale, but won't make any kind of raise like that. Though I do get to bring my dog to work.

    Maryland Exam Information

Can you imagine what the "investigation" consisted of?  I envision senior citizens with a pile of fitbits on a table yelling at each other "I don't know, Harriet! It looks like a damn watch to me!"

Just reading this made me start sweating.  So glad you caught it!

Lindburg CERM Ch. 32-34 for WRE?

Like you, I struggled through 6-8 months of prep using PPI (and other) materials the first time I took the exam. It can not be overstated: take a review course. It is so, so worth the money. Your time is much more valuable. EET is inexpensive when compared to taking the exam second time, your...

Lindburg CERM Ch. 32-34 for WRE?

As a two-time PE Civil WRE test taker ;)  I'd have to say the CERM has too many fringe topics and not enough content depth where it is needed. In fact, I felt that way about all the PPI products. That said, it's a good reference to have on your desk during the exam.  The topics covered in...

AM portion was apparently too easy...

Yeah, I tried not to check my work too many times, but on one problem, I found I had found the correct answer but filled in the wrong bubble! That was scary and made me super paranoid. I'm over it now, sort of.

    Mechanical test

On the other side of the coin... Civil exam may be easier and the pay may be lower than a mech/aero engr, so this may not apply to you. I failed last fall and told myself I'd only take once more, ever. It's a lot of time and expense, not to mention the stress on family/home life. I've already...

    Maryland Exam Information

Yeah, I don't have a car, was dropped off and needed a phone to contact my ride. So I surrendered my phone at the door. It seems pretty common practice. I left mine in the rental car the first time I took the exam, but others had taken theirs into the exam room. Side comment: Did anyone else...

AM portion was apparently too easy...

Oh no, man. That was a trick to make you think it's a trick. It really wasn't a trick. And it wasn't zero.

    Civil PE Registration

My company does a lot of work all over the country, so a CA license wouldn't be completely useless. Better for marketing for jobs in that state. The rush to get the license in my company is 1) the cash bonus and 2) jumping into the higher "licensed engineer" payscale sooner. It doesn't matter...

Failed FE multiple times. Need advice

Have you considered taking a class? I haven't taken this particular course: http://www.eetusa.com/classes/fe  but I'd highly recommend EET. Gotta say, this was my experience as well. I was sure I failed. I think I randomly filled in at least 10 bubbles each session.  @nolameaux2012 what was...

AM portion was apparently too easy...

Maybe that's because most of us took it for a second time, having studied another 4 months :/ What! And burn another Saturday in the name of NCEES?! No way! Saturday >> Work

    Civil PE Registration

Yeah, you are right about this. I forgot. Sorry to lead you astray Hamno!  The good thing about those two extra exams is they can be taken at a different time from the NCEES exam... but then that further delays actually being registered... Ah, yes, but you live in the state of convenience! ;)...

    Maryland Exam Information

Don't they normally  have an "updates to the exam rules" bulletin or something? I seem to recall "updates to the exam" but maybe they don't notify test takers of updates to the rules? It's pretty lame IMO... however... I did read it before the exam...  and wore my dumb watch two weeks out so I...
