Yeah it's $40 from NCEES, I've purchased it but haven't reviewed it yet. I'd like to put in some solid studying before taking it to gauge how well (or not well) prepared I am with time to up my study habits if need be. 

I can see the draw in taking it before you've reached your 4 years of experience. This way even if you fail once or twice before passing you still ensure you can have your PE at the moment you reach 4 years of experience.

Why not just buy the Structural Depth practice exam from NCEES?

I wouldn't rely on Testmasters either. I was registered for their Philadelphia course and they cancelled it due to low numbers only a week before it was to start. It really set me back since I was counting on their course to get me prepped so I hadn't started studying (2 months from the exam)...

wirelessengineer, I doubt 60% is the cut. We'd hear of many more people with scores in the low 130's, upper 120's. However, most of the posts are high 110s and mid to low 120s. IMO at least

So far the highest reported failing score is 118. It's crazy to me that Texas gives you the scaled %, that basically tells you the cut for that exam, in that region. Also 114 pts = 69% scaled mean 116 was passing for that state or region. And in the past people have reported 133 failing scores...

I would imagine the scoring will be done exactly the same just relative to the number of questions.
