    PM section exam marking criteria

I was under the impression that the AM and PM portions were graded separately and that a passing score is required in both to pass the exam.  This would be similar to the older style exam that was give about 10+ years ago where you could pass AM and PM separately.

    PM section exam marking criteria

Depends on how many times you have taken the test, if you have paid for it at least 3 times they normally pass you... all about the $$$

How much would you say you studied outside the lectures on your own?

Vertical and horizontal at the same month

Yes, this seems reasonable, this is my 3rd go around with Day 2 and last time I probably studied 220 hrs for the one exam and it seem by the end i forgot most of what I started studying.  I pass the afternoon no problem but I cant get by the morning.  Iam probably starting to early if I start in...

    Changes to AASHTO LRFD

So for this test year we only have to focus on the 7th edition and not the interim revisions correct?

    Changes to AASHTO LRFD

Does anyone know what are the major changes to AASHTO?  This will be the 3rd time I have had to print out the code and transfer years worth of notes and would rather not make that change unless its to major topics.

    SE Lateral Exam study tips

IDOT seismic design guide is for the most part good enough for your basic analysis and theory.  If by FHWA you mean the NHI course material and examples they offer (which are 3 examples i believe) are somewhat useful though very in depth with theory and not as much of practical use. On that...

    EET-SE Review

Studying for both seems (from so many that I see succeed) to be the best way to tackle this test.  When you study for Day 1 you learn a lot of the basics of design.  When you transition to Day 2 studying you are simply applying a new analysis technique.  I have found that if you move too far...

    EET-SE Review

I am in the exact same boat you were in with the AM section.  I really need to just crunch a lot of practice problems this time i think and am looking for a course that would help schedule my study time and give homework or recommended practice problems.  I am probably every book you can...

Is it worth it to take the SE exam?

I envy the rest of this country that doesnt have to go through the suffering of this exam.  In Illinois if you work with structures and do not have an SE you have no future.  This test takes such a toll on yourself and your family.  If 300 hrs of study was all it took to guarantee a pass rate it...

    SE Exam Scoring Workshop

So the SE Board for the Illinois Licensure will not meet until January 11th.  NCEES has sent Illinois the scores for the board to approve and allow NCEES to  post the scores.  In April the meeting was ~ 8 weeks after the exam and scores were posted the following day.  Looks like there may be a...

Yes, I spoke with NCEES and they said IL has the results and just hasnt given NCEES the go-ahead to post the results.

    Partial credit for afternoon problems

Yes Yes, I hear all sorts of good stories about people filling in flow-charts and getting acceptable on the questions.  Feel like there is just too much luck in this exam and subjectivity to ever get a good feel on a passing score.

    Partial credit for afternoon problems

I thought you each section (AM/PM) was independent of on another.  If you fail one you fail it all.  Previous colleagues of mine have scored all Acceptable in the afternoon and 24/40 in the AM and did not pass....
