    Bridge ****

The General W.K. Wilson Jr. Bridge, more commonly known locally as the "Dolly Parton Bridge" - The bridge has red warning lights atop the parallel support arches which, when combined with the shape of the supporting arches when approached from certain directions, have caused the bridge to gain...

    The 2019 Garden Thread

Got most of my Fall garden planted this past weekend. Bok Choy, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and spinach. Have lettuce seeded indoors but they're being a pain and not germinating. Have two pepper plants still producing that I left in the garden.

Water. Container vegetables demand more water than in-ground. At least that's been my experience.

    The 2019 Garden Thread

I have our garden in the ground and things are growing well. Had an outstanding crop of lettuce this year - think I had 8 different Romaine varieties, broccoli did well, cauliflower so-so. Grew bok choy for the first time this winter - love the flavor so will definitely grow more this Fall. Have...

    Alabama Tornadoes

Tornadoes are fairly common throughout Alabama. The Interstate is clear - the storm damage is south of the interstate.  @Road Guy I saw her brother last weekend and we were heading home from a quick hike in Kiesel Park, right by their house.

    Alabama Tornadoes

Yeah we are good here. The tornado that hit Beauregard was about 15 miles to the Southeast from my house. Initial reports say it was an EF4 tornado, but that it was only about 0.25 miles wide, so it was very compact. The area it hit has multiple mobile home communities, that's why the death toll...

    The 2018 Garden Thread

Overall, our garden had mixed results. Cukes were disappointing, but I just sowed a second planting so maybe a little better weather consistency will help. One type tomato exploded, but a second type did not. Squash and zukes were so/so, but I also just planted a second crop. Peppers were...

    DIY Geocaching?

You could also place it as more of a Letterbox instead of a Geocache. Then develop some hints / directions to locate the physical letterbox. Have them make their own "stamp" to use when they find it.

    The 2018 Garden Thread

A coworker's father has a garden and chickens. He has his chickens on one end of the garden while planting on the other end. Then he swaps when the growing season changes. He's had pretty good success with this.
