    Expected Results: June 2nd

A good deal of the local codes require landscape architects (or some form of certified equivalent) for commercial projects here in Florida. Their sheets are signed by them and added to the Civil sheets for Site Permits. Then at the end of the project the LA comes out and counts species and...

PE-Structural in depth / material for exam preparation

Above is one link that should help. Search these boards and you will find lots of helpful info and study tips. There are many thoughts about self-study or courses. It depends on your learning style.

The wait is worse than taking the exam!!!

This is determined by state statues for the most part. In FL if you work for an engineering firm then you are covered by the company policy for company work. If you decide to stamp things on your own you will need to research all the options. No need to research until after you pass. I found...

    Civil Engineer for Realtor

That's ridiculous! Any farmer would tell you you need more spacing between those money trees.

General Notes into AutoCAD or Revit

Revit is much more problematic than cadd. We just got revit 2017 LT due to the formatting issues with notes. Revit 2017 is much improved and makes the process quicker and cleaner. Revit 2016 was horrible with number formatting, tabs, spaces, and column widths. 2017 is the way to go.

    EET-SE Review

Almost. It's about subjective vs objective. http://grammarist.com/usage/ethics-morals/

    EET-SE Review

Even if it's not a copyright or ethical question, it's definitely a question of morals. Either way the test is going to be tough. Then waiting for your results will test your faith.

SE Reference Manual vs Structural Depth Reference Manual

Generally speaking, the test problems in the afternoon PE-Civil STR exam were easier (in my session) than what is reviewed in the SERM. That being said, if you study and understand the SERM you will be well prepared for the exam. I also found the CERM matched the PE Civil STR difficulty.

    Best web conference app?

We have been using sococo for screen sharing and web conferences. It doesn't use a phone, it uses the pc speaker and microphone from the webcam.  https://www.sococo.com/

    Structural Analysis Book?

It may help to buy a Hibbeler solutions book that matches your edition. This way you have tons of solved example problems for each topic and will not get stuck on a certain theory.

    Co Op or Internship

I think exposure to more companies would be preferred. But you would have to use that time wisely. Take notes on everyone in the office you meet. Build a relationship with some key players and follow up frequently. You may even offer to take them out to lunch before you graduate and ask to pick...

    Oregon Temporary Engineer

Check with the OR state board. In Florida it is used for a single project or time frame. It would have a very specific and limited use. So the answer in FL would be yes, but it may not be faster than the standard application if you have already started the process.

Reporting other engineer to state board

Florida takes a more proactive approach, and their disciplinary branch is self funded through collected fines. Here is the list on the website. https://fbpe.org/legal/disciplinary-actions/ But even then, it takes a lot to revoke a license. Most actions are slaps on the wrist, classes, and peer...

    Hello from Park City Utah

@Parkite I have been in Rotary for a while, our club likes to play hard and then give back to the community every weekend. Did you see the Novembers Rotarian magazine with the article about the structural engineer?  Good luck on your studies with the SE. It will be a bear but well worth it. Get...

    New PE Now more responsabilities!

Just because you passed a test doesn't mean you magically know everything now. As TWJ wrote, find a good mentor (in or out of your company) and never stop learning. Be confident in your opinion while understanding it depends on your education/research, knowledge and experience. There may be more...

    October 2016 Spam-athon Thread

Perhaps, I think it depends on your base knowledge. If you felt the PE STR depth was a bit of a challenge then you will definitely need that much time. As for the SE, I studied only 300 hrs, went straight for the Vert and Lat on a weekend in 2014, failed both. Signed up for the SE Vert Oct 2015...
