How Long for California to Review App and Issue License

Creating this thread for future forum searchers.  I put my completed application in the mail yesterday (5/28/2019) and they are scheduled to receive it on Friday (5/31/2019).  I'll record all activity here for the benefit of future aspiring licensees in California. *Edit to provide complete...

How long to get a new license number from CA board?

Totally off topic:  Does receiving a waiver for the FE impact one's ability to seek comity licensing in other states? I hope you get your answer, or better yet your number, soon.

    PE Exam - Moving States

I think I've muddied the waters somehow.   I was referring to an initial license situations.  In that case (mine) one would have to take the exam in CA.  One could comity in to CA if licensed elsewhere but I think we all know that at this point. For Power, there is no other exam (outside of...

Interesting.  All I know is that I was told to take it in state for power.

    PE Exam - Moving States

I got this answer before the last administration as I am an OH resident going for a CA license.  You must take it in CA.

    Pre-Graduation Experience -- California

I feel the same way but, knowing CA can take 90+ days to turn around an application, I wanted to make sure that I did everything I could do to minimize snag points.

    Pre-Graduation Experience -- California

Contacted the board.  They said the situation could raise a question so they indicated that I could write a letter and provide a printout of my NCEES record for that time period to help move things along.  Incidentally, I still work with the PE that vouched for the record time, so he is going to...

    Pre-Graduation Experience -- California

Background:  I hold a technology degree that I completed in 2015 (Electro-mechanical, TAC/ABET) and I earned this through part-time attendance starting in 2008.  I began working in industry, under licensed PE's in 2011 (for what it's worth, NCEES has approved my pre-graduation experience as...

Would any April questions be repeated in October?

Somewhere on this board there is someone who has taken one of the disciplines some 12 or 14 times (wow) and they were saying that there are repeated questions.  That said, I would assume that given the finite number of questions NCEES has to generate a test, 12 or 14 cycles would almost, but not...

    California Take-Home Exam

Just wanted to share that I did the CA take-home rules/law exam last night.  Umm...  Don't underestimate that thing.  It took way longer than I anticipated.  Actually set aside some distraction-free time for yourself to get through it else frustration will set in quickly.

New member (CA) say hi !

I felt the exact same way walking out of the PE.  You weren't in San Mateo by chance.  Were you?  That's where I sat for it.
