    Question Regarding Lost Time

I'm sorry you are struggling with this concept, and the HCM isn't exactly the best book to learn from. However, effective green time 'g' small 'g' NOT big 'G' is g = G + Y + AR - (tl) See the attached.

    LOS on a Freeway Segment

I ended up going with Chapter 11, my reasoning is that this is for a class on uninterrupted flow, and the lecture on multi-lane highways is this week (that question came up last week). So, right or wrong, I kind of just backed into what the professor wanted, but I'm still curious as to how speed...

    LOS on a Freeway Segment

This is an MS problem, and I think it's jacked to be honest. The issue with 18 vs 25 is the 18 is almost LOS 'B' and the 25 is almost LOS 'D' However, to make this relevant to EB, in my EET notes I have written "whenever speed limit it is given use that as BFFS" and go from there.

    LOS on a Freeway Segment

This is actually a disagreement I'm having in a class on uninterrupted flow. No idea about signalization, BFFS I am using 55 (50+5) Either way you end up with LOS 'C' But using Chapter 11 you get a density of 18 pc/ph/pl where using Chapter 14 you get 25 pc/ph/pl ..... my argument is that...

    LOS on a Freeway Segment

Here is a question for you all. A 6-lane rural freeway has a posted speed limit of 50 mph and is located within rolling terrain. The freeway has 11-foot lanes with 2-foot shoulders on both the right and median-side of the roadway. There are 2 on-ramps and 2 off-ramps located within three miles...

Anyone taking the EET Transportation Depth Course?

Its just another text, IMO, a lot easier to follow along or "learn" topics you don't know. The CERM is too technical for my liking. Goswami isn't as all encompassing as the CERM though. I wouldn't stress out about not having it, but if I saw one used for $20 I'd buy it. One of my test questions...

Anyone taking the EET Transportation Depth Course?

That's a solid plan. Do you have the HSM, Ped Book, and ADA?? I would have those as well. I probably wouldn't buy any of them, but if your creative in google .....

    Quiz #29

Let some others chime in if they so please. These are basic speed/flow equations. I don't think you'll see them in any of the required texts for Transpo ... maybe somewhere in the HCM. You should have a general Traffic Engineering text with you for the exam. These relationships are fair game...

Anyone taking the EET Transportation Depth Course?

Fort the Transpo Depth you're still going to need the required references, your call on the paving books. For the AM, I went outside my EET binder for 2 problems. One came from Goswami, the other from the CERM.

    Quiz #29

Some practice concepts, I realize this is not in NCEES format. A study of freeway flow at a particular site has resulted in a flow-density relationship, as follows: Q = 63.4k - 0.46k^2  From this relationship: (a) Find the free-flow speed and jam density. (b) Determine the critical...

    Questions on Transpo PE Test

Just read the other EET reviews. All you need for 90% of the exam is your EET binder. The exam isn't hard, it just covers a lot of ****. All that **** is in your EET binder. Goswami exams are good to get some practice, but you're right, they are harder than the exam. EET's stuff is harder than...

    Trip Generation

This was actually more an exercise in Statistics and regression than actual Traffic Engineering. I got some help via Facebook :DV:

    Trip Generation

Anyone fairly knowledgeable with trip generation and Excel? I have two linear regression models with multiple independent variables. I'm trying to figure out how to plot these. Thanks
