April 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

I heard the guy who sends the results email out decided to take a long weekend due to the upcoming holiday. He will return on Tuesday.

MD PDH requirements for first 2 years

I think you are correct. However, I am speaking from NJ and they have very similar wording. One thing you might want to verify is the validity time of your license. My NJ license, although it says is a 2 year license, AND we pay the 2 year activation fee, says is valid from 1/13/21 to...

    Received Wall Certificate...now what?

I sat in October, found out I passed in mid December, Official License issued like mid January. Wall Certificate came in the mail last week, so about 4-4.5 months after license issued.

April 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

Same - I was there for the first round of Schiano and it was actually fun to go/watch the games. And to be fair - my 6am bowel movement would have been a step up from Chris Ash. What an embarrassment that was...

    Received Wall Certificate...now what?

I'm sure this has been covered a million times here but I can't seem to get a succinct search to find the thread(s). So, after about 4.5 months after receiving my official license and number from the Great State Of NJ, I've just received my wall certificate. I'm planning on getting it frames...

    Home Improvement/Repair Questions

Edit - regarding cutting in of electrical boxes...They do realize there are attachments for oscillating/rotary tools that are literally the size of standard boxes with teeth to cut the proper hole every time? BUT....YOLO. I like the Rotozip. The thrill of a possible runaway while cutting just...

    Home Improvement/Repair Questions

This is exactly why I do most of my work myself, provided I can. I refuse to pay someone to do something that I am capable of. With that said, I'm in the process of finishing my basement. Did all the framing, electrical and drywall myself. I paid some one to mud, tape and sand. I will do...

April 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

IIRC, the January offering was just a handful of Civil that essentially were not comfortable sitting for October. I'm sure there was a significantly less number of examinees in that period, which could contribute to the speed in which they were able to turn around results. This April offering...

April 2021 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

Don't give up that easily...you never know. BUT, regardless of the outcome, my opinion is you should take time off and recharge. Burn out is real. You won't be doing yourself any favors.

Looking for "game day" ideas and advice for Civil PE...

Time is your second biggest opponent besides yourself. That's why they stress knowing your references. If you can quickly find the equations, tables, general info etc. You'll bank boatloads of time. Remember, 6 minutes per problem. If you spend 4 of it searching for the right equation, you're...

Looking for "game day" ideas and advice for Civil PE...

NCEES exam without a doubt. I felt it the difficulty level of it say, moderate. By no means simple but not exactly a bloodbath. Say, simpler than i expected it to be overall. The questions you see there are phrased, and presented very similar to the exam itself. I also took the EET review...

Looking for "game day" ideas and advice for Civil PE...

THIS...the dump wasn't the issue. But about a half hour in to the AM session I got the "gotta pee" feeling. But I told myself I'm not sacrificing any time. So i held it. Finished the AM in about 2 hours checked it, rechecked it. So it's been 2.5 hours and I've been holding it for 2 hours...

Looking for "game day" ideas and advice for Civil PE...

Apologizing in advance for the longwinded response. I took the Construction exam in October. I was able to fit all of my references into a medium sized rolling suitcase, and I was content. But, I saw a wide array of transportation methods from wagons, to hand trucks and I'm quite surprised a...

    January 2021 Results

For the record - I took and passed in October. Still no wall certificate from NJ. Edit: just realized this was in the SA Seismic thread...BUT I stand by my statement..

Does the board see PE test scores?

Yikes - good luck man... I agree with get it while you're young though. Took the FE right out of college at 21/22. Got my PE at the ripe age of 31... BUT if COVID hadn't thrown a wrench in, and it was the same exam, i could argue that I would have only been 30. Only reason i took the 8 ish...

Does the board see PE test scores?

Just my 2 cents - Is it a state by state requirement to have PE as references? In NJ I was required to have 5 references, 3 of which had to be PEs with knowledge of my engagements as a part of my exam application for approval to sit. Do other states not require that?

How do you calculate air volume in a concrete problem?

An Also also, if you're taking the EET course, those binders are your #1 resource. If you take the time to watch the lectures, do all of the practice problems, and the exams they give at the end...you will be fine. I took the class as well and would recommend it 1000%. AND don't be afraid to...

How do you calculate air volume in a concrete problem?

I had this EXACT thought in my prep. I understand the purpose of the exam is to test competency in the engineering principles (and practice). But to me, beating a dead horse for 8 hours isn't necessarily going to prove that said examinee is competent (or incompetent). The 8 hours turns more of...
