How Many Months Should you Study to Pass? We asked our Students that Passed April 2017

What 'power systems' are you using as a reference? These questions should be in there. Zone 2 is considered as back-up even tho it will still see a zone 1 fault.  Zone 1 is typically 85% of the distance and zone 2 is 115% if my memory is correct. If the fault is close to the relaying, the zone...

    Decoupling experience from taking exam

I think LA has similar warnings. It is just advice to people that may need a multi state license in the future. I imagine Ohio will change their policy in time, they just haven't yet. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    Decoupling experience from taking exam

When I took the test, there were two guys (CO & GA) who were licensed but taking it in Ohio die to not meeting Ohio's requirements. So, it does happen. Ohio is one of the state's that won't accept a 'decoupled' license for comity. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

    NCEES Experience Dispute

An NCEES record is a good thing to have if one plans to be licensed in multiple state jurisdictions (like @Ken PE 3.1). Essentially it is a duplicate of what you submitted during your application to sit for the PE exam. Only (2) additional PE references are required for a total of (5). Then when...

I failed the POWER PE Please Help!

The thing that helped me to pass was categorizing example problems and notes according to the exam breakdown. Which essentially means that the same example might show up in 3 or 4 sections. It helped reinforce the formulas needed for a particular style problem, plus you have all the notes at...

I failed the POWER PE Please Help!

I hope you get it this time. I know the pain of having to restudy over and over again to get this done. You can do it! Hanging around here after multiple attempts does not make one a troll.

    Certificate of Authorization - Alabama?

The CA is the company's version of the license. The company cannot offer engineering services without a CA in a particular state. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

You are more than welcome to do the map yourself. I was just trying to be helpful. Sure as hell never claimed this to be 100% accurate.

Tips to pass Ethics Exam for Texas PE

I think I missed one. Texas has the easiest test I have taken for ethics/laws/rules. They give you the section number to be used unless they changed it in the last few months.

I failed the POWER PE Please Help!

GT has better notes unless SOPE really had an overhaul in the past few years. Less errors in the notes as well from what I remember. If you get GT, use the binder as a template to build your own resources. Fill in the 'holes' with additional materials to supplement the material. Then of course...

For those passed the PE exam under Decoupling , Did you update your resume?

You could put P(assed) E(xam) next to your name, because you are not a PE yet. It should be listed as a bullet point. No need to confuse HR scanning through resumes. You definitely don't want to start out on the wrong foot. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
