I have the new 2018 NCEES practice exam (copyright 2017) and an older one (copyright 2011).  The questions that are different in the new 2018 practice exam are: 122,126, 135, 503, 508, 526, and 527.

Thank you both! I did not know either of these things as far as the exam. I feel like it seems unspecified and then the solutions half the time "a 69 kV 3-phase system" with no regard to whether its delta or wye and then out of nowhere the solution has it as are phase to phase wye. Or the NEC...

^^^ The question doesnt specify whether its in a raceway or conduit or free air, so its stupid ambiguous as to whether to use b16 or b17. After 3 months of studying, I've found that I legitimately KNOW how to solve 90% of the problems I encounter, and the most common reason I get the rest wrong...

Mine just says: "Wear a watch and turn off the beeping function. Clocks are not always visible. Smart watches are prohibited." I'll be wearing a regular analog watch. Most of my watches are automatic mechanical action (no battery) so those ones are truly electronics free. :P

Well, I got lucky today and found a hardcover copy of Blackburn’s protective relaying book (2007 ed.) at work today, so I’ll be bringing that now. Can’t beat free. Might as well since protection is now the biggest question set on the exam this year.

I plan to bring a print out of the GE Art & Science of Protective Relaying protection book that’s long been the go to in the industry. Lots of free PDFs of it out there. 

Stuff about storing chemicals near energized equipment such as substation control houses etc. My guess is there might be like 1 question on any of them. Not concern enough for my to buy them, but now that work gave us access to the PDFs I’ll print them out. 

I’m sticking with a backpack. Easier mobility. I’ll stick my books on the table or floor if I need to. Going with the K.I.S.S. method. :)

I feel your pain. I just took the NCEES practice exam today. Passed it okay, but got tripped up on both of these. Thanks for the bump so I can check out the linked threads.

As for this, I'm set now. Work approved my request to purchase NFPA 497, 499, 30B by PDF to add to our available code library, so I have them now. :)
