    AEI SE Lectures

I took ONLY the Lateral, but some say taking both is brutal. That being said, it really comes down to how much you need to learn. If you are weak on alot of areas, you may require homework outside of the provided binder. The binder has many homework and workshop problems. They also provide...

    20' beam

Agreed, adding plywood for a flitch beam provides MINIMAL extra capacity. It kills me when contractors refuse to accept this answer. Aside from that, provide the info requested above and we will review. Where are the spices in the plywood? Are the 2x10 continuous? Maybe finish a plan...

Planning to take the SE Buildings exam in October 2021

Ah, I just realized @Gonzaga said they were planning to take it in October.  That is when NCEES will lost likely update the code references.  So my reasoning for taking the lateral FIRST is moot. If you start studying NOW for the fall exam, you have a great chance to pass both.  Studying for...

Planning to take the SE Buildings exam in October 2021

As for which exam to take first, you may want to consider taking the Lateral first.  The codes will mostly change for the Fall, and the code change will be less of a burden for  the Vertical Exam.
