Use the smallest possible, because space can be limited dependent on what your transport device is. I believe mine are 1" and 2.5", see pics.

I have 3 small binders that each have the following sections, 1-4, 5, and 6. Then on binder for the rest. And I have a Summary binder with the index and cheat sheets.

There is probably only a handful that are not taking the entire code.

Putting that in the perspective that's 3 exams before it goes CBT. ARGH!

NCEES just changed codes for the Fall 2021 session, and that was delayed due tk COVID. So it MAY be another year before they do. But as stated above, it is a mystery.

The PPI Structural Reference Manual is not worth purchasing.... especially if you plan on taking the AEI courses. The PPI Practice Exam MAAYYY have some benefit.

It appears to be a direct copy of the AASHTO table 10.6.3.1.2a-3 in the 7th edition. Not sure if it is the same table in other editions. That being said, I am not very familiar with AASHTO, but maybe you can narrow you search down to AASHTO design examples...

For those of us we do not have the handbook, you will need to include that snippet for discussion.

Since you are referring to the NCEES handbook, I assume you are studying for a CBT (computer based test)? I am not familiar with the requirements for such. If so, will you also have access to the ACI manual during the exam?

Does the handbook have equations from ACI? In particular equation 22.5.10.5.3. With this equation, you re-arrange for Av and solve.
