    That is what I get when I use the 1st equation you have there. I think that is how they should solve it going forward so they are following the Handbook. I'm taking it the 21st. Hoping to be in the same boat as you very soon!

    Electronic versions of NEC, NESC, and NFPA 70E?

    If you have access to IEEE Xplore through work or school you might be able to get a copy from there. With my work subscription, I was able to download the NESC.

    Power Factor vs Sync. Motor/Generator - Under/Over excited?

    I try to remember for a generator, you will have a lagging current to supply a lagging load. That load also needs reactive power which is supplied from the over excited generator. Opposite for the leading pf case.
