    October 2020 Results Map

That is currently correct. You can register directly with NCEES. You only apply with us once you have passed your PE exam, completed your required years of experience, and wish to get a Florida PE license. Prior to a rules change in October 2019, you had to register with FBPE first, and you had...

We still have a few holdovers from when you had to register with FBPE prior to registering to take the exam. Those examinees have to be manually verified in our system.

Florida results are in... what's next?

With the PE exam sitting and a new Florida law going into effect both in October 2019, there's been some confusion over what happens next if you passed the October PE exam. We just posted the following article on our website, which we hope clarifies things. (If not, please let me know and we'll...

Changes to PE licensure in Florida

In case you hadn't heard, a new law went into effect in Florida on Oct. 1, 2019, that makes several significant changes to Professional Engineer licensure. First, the law decouples the PE exam from experience. So you no longer have to have four years of engineering experience to register for...

    FL Results

DBPR received the current, verified list of passing candidates after FBPE released the results. The Structural passers will be sent separately when those results are released.

    FL Results

We haven't gotten an update from DBPR regarding license numbers. And we're still waiting on the Structural exam results. Hang in there. Hopefully it won't be too much longer on either.

    FL Results

In Florida, 415 took the PE exam in April, with 250 passing and 165 failing. That would be a 60.24 pass rate. (These numbers do not take into account Structural, since the results are still pending.)

    FL Results

Yes, DBPR was given the list of exam passers (except for Structural) last week. It will take two to three weeks for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to input the results and for us to double-check everything, then DBPR will generate PE numbers. Watch your account...

When You Should Add PE After Your Name

This is pretty clear in Florida statutes: Though someone may have passed the PE exam, they are not licensed until it has been verified with NCEES and a license number is issued. (At least in Florida.) But check your own state's statutes and rules, which may be different from Florida's.

When You Should Add PE After Your Name

Absolutely bad advice. The last thing you want to do is start your career as an almost-licensed PE with a disciplinary action taken against you. Here's some pertinent information regarding what constitutes unlicensed activity in Florida: "Using a name or title tending to indicate that a person...

Congratulations to everyone who passed the October 2018 PE exam! So what's your next step in Florida? You will need to go to myfloridalicense.com (which is run by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation) and create an account. For how to do that, check out steps 1-5 on...

The States Still Waiting After Day One

FBPE staff is in the process of reviewing the results for errors and exceptions. After that, we will authorize release of the Florida results. We hope it won't be too long. The Board is meeting in Tallahassee today. If you're in the area, you are welcome to attend any part of it.

    FBPE Initial Licensure

Congratulations on passing your PE, @shiero_01! (Sorry we’re a bit late with that; we just joined the EB.) @Bustosavich is mostly correct. All Florida Professional Engineer licenses expire on the last day of February of odd years. We are currently in our licensure renewal period, with all...
