    Home Improvement/Repair Questions

I'm thinking maybe he has some sort of loose connection somewhere, and perhaps his extension cord energized the "dead" side of this loose connection from a different leg than the "live" side, resulting in 240 V over the loose connection--just enough to cause it to arc across and trip the...

GFCIs are to protect people from being electrocuted, so they may not be required for outdoor lighting since you're not normally touching them (I'm not an NEC expert by any means though).  So there's a good chance your outdoor area lighting is on a separate circuit. Where's the transformer for...

This.  Mine is in an outlet in the ceiling of my garage.  I never would have found it if I hadn't tripped it with my outlet tester (similar to the one pictured above) and heard it trip from the laundry room.

I used to think I hated salmon. Turns out it's because all my family ever had was canned salmon.  Now I love (non-canned) salmon.

The problem is some people are doing just this and 99% of them will be fine in the end which they think proves they were right.  They have a hard time comprehending anything abstract like statistics.

Generally it's the law to stop if you're approached by an emergency vehicle in either direction.  Perhaps NY is different, but Michigan's law is:

I wouldn't ever give a dime to someone who can't be bothered to put a single punctuation mark in a social media post--especially one where they're trying to win over clients. oh wait there is some punctuation after all he put two exclamation points in his five sentence runon

TV - What are you watching?

Haven't seen it but from what I've read it sounds rather one-sided.  But then I grew up watching the Pistons in the late 80s and early 90s and thus have no appreciation for the Bulls.

It finally warmed up here again so I got back to fixing the brake line on my Jeep.  I ended up buying my own flaring tool for $25 from Amazon because the borrowed tool from the parts store was junk.  The end result isn't a work of art, but it works with no leaks so I'm happy.  Thanks for the...

Last thing watched on netflix / Amazon..................

I really enjoyed it too--kind of depressing like RG said, but interesting to see the lengths they had to go to.  I remember when it happened--now I wonder how many Covid dramatizations we're going to see in a few years.

Same for ours.  My wife wanted a pure Siamese, but we came across him at the local humane society.  The people that brought him in found a litter under their house.  We adopted his brother too, who is a regular orange tabby.  Odd that they came from the same litter when they look totally different.

Sounds like sporting events aren't refunding either.  MLB usually allows a ticket swap if the game is cancelled but right now all their games are postponed until who knows when. As for TIcketmaster, I expect a class action lawsuit to come out of this one.  Which will make the lawyers rich and...

Junkyards will probably offer you a couple hundred bucks at least.  I did craigslist with my Bronco and sold it in a couple days, cold, hard cash.  I also donated a motorcycle I didn't want to deal with and they came and picked it up.  If you itemize your taxes you can get some value out of that.
