Can Anyone Recommend a Good Linear Algebra Book?

For an undergrad level course, just about any textbook would work. Thats's part of the reason there are so many of them. If you are looking to progress to graduate linear algebra, then I would use a text that is analytically heavy with a strong use of proofs instead of a 'repeat the example on...

Motorcyclist Protesting Helmet Law Dies After Hitting Head

Helmet laws: Bad. Not wearing a helmet: Dumb

recent college grad with no job prospects

Was there an interview before they offered the position? If I were doing the interview, I'd be doing cartwheels finding one person that would want the job without pay just the loose promise of something in the future... Regardless, why were you even there if you weren't interested in accepting...

recent college grad with no job prospects

I hadn't heard of the show until you mentioned it here; but after a quick wiki review, it sounds about right. If I were in the OP's shoes, that's exactly what I would be doing right now. Bottom line, I've ever needed a job bad enough to work for someone else for free. It's just not rational...

recent college grad with no job prospects

I would take a motorcycle trip as far as I could go. Find a part time job when cash gets low and repeat. There'll be plenty of time down the road to get a desk job to pay down your mortgage and support a family...

    Are federal workers overpaid

I'm a Federal engineer. At 31, I make a little over $100k @ GS-13. But that's largely on the back of my PE, Masters, and Six Sigma Black Belt. Is that overcompensated? Either way: when the economy was at it's high point, I had contractors supporting me that did the same kinds of work with less...

    Industrial PE Study Materials

That's all that I found too. Reviewing those, a book of statistical tables, and the FE review book was enough to get my PE. (And my undergrad was in Chemical Engineering, NOT Industrial Engineering.) YMMV.

What happens when an alligator bites an electric eel?

On second thought, I want to know the name of the fishing hole that has both electric eels and alligators. It's time to break out the flyrods.

What happens when an alligator bites an electric eel?

I always played the game as a kid about which animal would win "rhino or alligator" or "tiger or boa constrictor". Unfortunately, Youtube wasn't around as a kid to show us the results of some of those pairings. Thankfully that problem has been fixed. I present to you the Electric Eel versus...

Air Force enters 4th day of pounding MILFs

OMG--How did I miss the fact that they are MILF rebels? This story keeps getting better... The only way it can get even better would be if the MILFs were escaping from a prison run by a cruel and brutal, lesbo leaning female warden. *fingers.crossed*

    Kids go crazy over Monopoly

Ticket to Ride is a great recommendation for a family boardgame!

Air Force enters 4th day of pounding MILFs

Full story here. Now that's an action I could, ahem, get behind! /Sorry. Couldn't resist.

    Kids go crazy over Monopoly

I'm an avid boardgame hobbyist with a collection of over 200 boardgames. I would recommend watching this video for some insight as to some other directions to go. It's 17 minutes of extreme geekery, but can help you with some next choices. (Feel free to skip the silly cartoon intro though.)...

    Homemade Wine

Along the same lines, I've always wanted to make a still too. I don't really drink that often, but I really like the idea of drinking something I make instead of something I buy...

Launch of Unknown Missile Caught on Tape in California

My bet is that it was a launch of a new target missile to be used in developmental missile interception testing. The fact that no one is saying anything means that the government IS saying something. :)
