I completely disagree with this. LRFD = load resistance factor design. It has nothing to do with yielding other than calibrating the resistance factors. Since LRFD is based in statistics, it absolutely should be applied to timber design as well, and it is.

I'm probably one of the outliers here with SE at 26. FE was at 20, and PE was at 23. I'm definitely more than a little shocked on the FE age. I'm thinking the PE is a conglomerate of all the disciplines. I bet if just the civil PE was analyzed, the age would be younger.
