Comity Question (Must First License be in Same State as Exam?)

To explain my situation, I am working as an engineer in Colorado but took the PE exam in Wyoming. I still need another year of work experience before I am able to obtain an actual PE license. Am I able to apply directly to the state of Colorado for my first License, or is the only option to first become licensed in WY then apply for comity in CO? It would be nice to avoid keeping two active licenses, or potentially letting my Wyoming license lapse if possible.

I did, I was thinking that based on the highlighted section passing the test in any state should count. It seems that they use the NCEES record, but didn't know if anyone had experience with this.

And I guess 4 bullet points down from the highlighted one just says "take and pass the PE exam", nothing about the specific state.

if you have the required number of years experience for CO, it should just be a matter of doing the NCEES record and applying. The NCEES record is not a quick process though.

This is from the NCEES website. This tells me that Colorado will accept an application for initial licensure regardless of where the pe exam was taken.

I am aware, I have started working on the record (I still have a year before I would be able to even apply). I have already sent my transcripts and started getting my job history together. I only have two jobs to write-up, so assuming those get approved, the references are the only thing left. I have plenty of licensed engineers I work with, so I'm not too worried about that at all.

I don't see anything in the Colorado regs that would prevent you from just applying for an initial license directly with them after you meet the experience requirement. You look okay to apply directly with them.
