I'm not from Virginia, but anybody here know anything about results from that state? Reason I'm asking is because my bro's wife is waiting on the results.

First time poster. Hi.

I just received this from DPOR:

Exam results normally take 12 weeks before they are released. We don't

even have

The results yet. We expect to have them by late June or early July. If

you don't

Pass the exam, the deadline for scheduling again with the exam vendor is

September 19.

Hi, hopeful. Don't believe that response. It is what all of the boards tell everybody. Even when they are posting results or sending letters. Just be patient and keep checking. Good luck.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I tell you, the first time I took the exam I was just pleasantly surprised when the envelope came. Then I prepared more for the last time. This time, I find myself addicted to this site and to the DPOR site to see if there's any new word on the streets! I'm going to be shattered if I get a FAIL notice again. I thought this test, despite my preparation, was harder than it was in the fall.

FYI--> October 2007 results recieved 1/3/08 (via VA DPOR website), with the first states recieving there's 12/19/07. Hopefuly the delay won't be quite as bad since we had Christmas and New Year's sandwiched between VA results and some of the other states.

It's sad that I'm considered a veteran of waiting for my PE Results.

Credit (as compared to CA) for early release of results on 1/03 in the state of VA goes to PCS's efficient handling methods.

April 2007 results for VA came out on 6/29/07 - Sorry you have to wait a little longer

OK, Poll Question for Virginia PE Takers:

Roughly, how many times a day do you check DPOR's database and EB in hopes of finding out something regarding Virginia PE Exam Results?

I'm probably 3.

Just 3? I bet you are on left tail end of bell shaped curve. I check at least once every 1 hour during 9-5pm (Monday, and Friday), Tuesday - every two hours, Wednesday every 3 hours, Thursday every 2 hours. Saturday - twice a day. Sunday - once. I may be on right tail end. I hope not.

Now, how many times a day, do you check this EB website? More than the DPOR VA website. Scroll down to the bottom of the list to find VA. It reminds the statement from DPOR VA Lady, who said "we are very close to the bottom ..... ?" Unfortunately, yes we are.

GeoCivil,

You previously stated: "Credit (as compared to CA) for early release of results on 1/03 in the state of VA goes to PCS's efficient handling methods."

Since you submitted that, I've been trying to figure out if that was a sarcastic or honest statement. I suppose a release so shortly after the New Year's Holiday is impressive, but it still seems like a bit long of a wait. Do you have any idea how the other PCS states compare to Virginia with regards to the speediness of results? I wonder what the benefits are to the Commonwealth for using PCS over ELSES.

Just thought I would let everyone know that I emailed Engineering Examination Services (EES) last Thursday night to find out if results had been sent to DPOR. I got the following reply the next morning:

hopefully today or next week

Sincerely,

Tara D. Elkins

Examination Coordinator

Dang it Joe! That'll make me triple the number of times I check DPOR and EB each day. I had just finished making myself believe I wouldn't see anything until July.

I know what you mean, ramicoce! My productivity at work is at an all time low.

When I expressed my frustration while talking to an EES officer (a lady) over the phone, she pour her story something like this, "You will get your result on your hand long before I even come to know that results are mailed to you: examinees." Then, I stopped calling them over the phone. My observation is that the people to whom we have access over the phone actually do not have any knowledge on the current status of the result, and its importance. They handle so many exams everyday, I wonder whether they know what is PE in a real sense, and top of all its importance to us. It seems EB.com also got tired of counting days, and stopped counting the days on our (Va.nians) behalf. Are we left behind?

Regarding the benefit and loss in appointing the PCS as an PE exam administrator in VA, my guess is that PCS might have much wider spectrum of services compared to ELSES. PCS might have received responsibilities for wider areas of Professional Certification Exams in VA, and PE might be just a tiny part of the pie. Using induction rule, we should get result by the end of this week. We should keep checking the license numbers in the range 04020443* and 04020444* : current status is 36 and 9, respectively. As early as these number go up, lucky guys will find their name in the updated list, and if we don't find our name, we should use vacuum cleaner to clean the dusty books and pull all the books back on table. These numbers should rise to a number around 70-85 (average trend is like that, and it is consistent with the NCEES's passing rate of 65% in first time takers, and 30% among repeat takers. My guess numbers are in the following range: 36 + 0.65 * 64 = 76, and 9 + 91*0.65 = 70. As VA is among top 7 states in income / per capita level, thus the engineers working in VA must be in right end tail, and the passing rate should be higher than the average states. Thus, the optimistic number (optimistic first time passing rate= 75%) can be modified to 36+ 0.75 * 64 = 85, and 9 + 0.75*91 = 75. So, my optimistic range will be 75-85. Chances of failure lies somewhere 15-20 out of 150 applicants in these two hundred series (because some are comity based applicants in these 2 hundred series). I believe that I did perfect in morning session, I must pass. But, exam is exam, no one knows what will be the real outcome. I remain finger crossed. God bless us.

Same. About three. Sadly, checking that place will not tell me if I've failed, only if I've passed.

I check here more often for the scoop. If others are seeing their names on the DPOR site and I'm not, then the gig is, as they say, up.

Thanks for your advice HWY PE, but unfortunately it didn't help my anxious mind. 8-9 weeks after the test was last week.

Plus, I keep hoping that, in this new age of technology, this may be the year that mankind somehow finds a way to grade a scantron test in less than 10 weeks.

LOL at "this may be the year..." The wait is killing me - I check at least 10 times a day! ;) Last year, the April results were posted online on June 25. (They took the exam April 20) -- so for us, the equivalent would have been June 16...

There has been no new names posted to the DPOR site. I know of 15 people from zip 23112 and noe show up. I hardly believe that all 15 failed, but I guess they could.
