Verticals Exam - Incidental Lateral Loads

I believe wind loads are part of the scope of the verticals exam. If so, and due to high wind loads shear walls or diaphragms are required, am I to bring SDPWS to the exam let alone study that? Or, are incidental lateral loads excluding the need to use SDPWS?

SDPWS is on NCEES's list of design standards for the vertical exam, meaning there could be content on the exam from it. However, I think wind loads are mostly on the lateral exam and you shouldn't have to worry about them too much. I would say bring it, but don't worry about reviewing it too much.

Yeah, you won't have wind loads on the vertical exam. "Incidental" lateral loads include lateral earth pressures, surcharges, water/stream pressures, impacts, etc.

You probably won't need SDPWS on the vertical exam. But bring it just in case.
