Would you like to play a crucial role in the delivery of fire and explosion safety at our large submarine manufacturing facility? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Engineer at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for conventional fire safety and explosion safety activities across all submarine platforms, as well as the facilities that support the build of these platforms. You will be responsible for a range of projects which will include the authoring and review of Fire Strategies as well as Fire & DSEAR Assessments.  The development of fire strategies will include tasks such as writing technical specifications for new equipment with an aim of lowering the fire and explosion risk in terms of both life safety and asset protection across the site.

This role will provide you with the chance to develop your career in a very niche and critical area of engineering. You will also have the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders across the submarine projects as well as site redevelopment projects. Future progression opportunities could include Consultant Engineer or Engineering Manager level positions within the Control Damage Hazards team
