The seismic exam looks to be headed to ASCE 7-16 starting in January 2020. If I am planning on taking the exam some time next year, would I be okay using current study materials based on ASCE 7-10, or am I better off waiting for authors or the online courses to update?

What are the building departments in local and state agencies requiring you to design to at that time?  I ask this because the test plan specifications found at https://www.bpelsg.ca.gov/applicants/plan_civseism.pdf state "(NOTE: As used throughout this test plan, the term applicable code refers to the current adopted California Building Code.)"
