Job Description

Loyal source is a disabled veteran owned staffing company that places various technical and health care related professionals within both government and private sectors. Currently, we employee 2500 employees that serve multiple disciplines nationwide.   

Duties

  • [SIZE=10pt]Conduct site surveys and security assessments of Legislative Branch grounds and facilities.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Determine electronic and physical security requirements for new construction and renovation projects.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Determine electronic and physical security requirements based upon client requirements or assessments conducted by others.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Design and engineer complex computer-based electronic security systems.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Review construction documents for physical and electronic security implications.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Prepare project documents, scopes of work, and engineering specifications for physical and electronic security projects.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Prepare, track, and update project schedules using scheduling software such as Microsoft Project.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Prepare project-engineering drawings using AutoCAD or Micro Station.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Coordinate support from the Office of the Architect of the Capitol.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Assist in the development of physical and electronic security standards, policies, and guidelines.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Conduct quality assurance inspections of contract work (performed by others).[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Develop cost estimates for electronic and physical security projects.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Prepare project status reports.[/SIZE]
Experience

  • [SIZE=10pt]Minimum five years of experience in electronic and physical security systems engineering and project management.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Minimum three years of experience providing electronic and physical security system expertise for a large federal Government facility.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Minimum three years of experience managing physical and electronic security projects.[/SIZE]
Education and Training

  • [SIZE=10pt]Project Management training conducted in a formal setting.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Physical security training conducted in a formal setting.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Must be physically able to obtain and retain confined space training in the event it becomes necessary.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Proficiency in Microsoft Office Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint equivalent to intermediate level certification.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Electronics knowledge sufficient to read and develop electronic security system schematics and trouble shoot electronic security systems.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Knowledge of computer networking equivalent to Cisco’s Networking Fundamentals Version 4.0.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Proficiency with electronic and networking troubleshooting tools such as an OTDR, light source and power meter, multi-meter, and oscilloscope.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Proficiency with AutoCAD 2010/11 full version.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Ability to write highly technical documents at the college level.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Ability to read and interpret facility construction drawings.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Familiarity with federal regulations governing the protection of facilities, personnel, classified information, and other assets.[/SIZE]
Desired Qualifications

  • [SIZE=10pt]BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) or Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC).[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Minimum two years of experience in a security position in the Legislative Branch.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Certified Protection Professional or Physical Security Professional certification or completion of a physical security course sponsored by a federal agency.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Project Management Professional certification or completion of a project management certificate program at an accredited university.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Confined space training and certification.[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=10pt]Knowledge of wireless networking.[/SIZE]
