Would you like to play a key role in the design and development of submarines? We currently have vacancies for Engineers, Senior Engineers, Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers at our site near England's distinguished Lake District.
You will be working as part of the Integrated Systems organisation responsible for the design, specification, delivery, integration and qualification of complex, mission critical, software based control and communication systems.
These varied roles will provide you with the opportunity to engage in a range of design activities, from detailed requirements and performance analysis, generating test procedures and reviewing evidence, right up to writing technical specifications for subcontracted equipment. You will also have exposure to major customers, as well as future opportunities to progress into engineering management or a technical specialist role.
Your main responsibilities, depending upon the role, may involve:
• Undertaking systems engineering analysis on a range of complex software based systems
• Authoring system design documentation including, but not limited to, design descriptions, safety documentation, test and commissioning specifications
• Preparing and outfitting integration and test facilities
• Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing of equipment at supplier premises and testing on site
• Leading engagement with the wider programme teams and business partners to ensure that requirements are achieved, and appropriately balanced with other stakeholder requirements
• Progress reporting, including the identification of relevant issues, risks and opportunities
• Producing evidence in support of qualification, legislative requirements and safety justifications and providing specialist support for associated activities
• Specifying major equipment, and managing significant suppliers with associated contracts
• Leading design and development tasks from a technical perspective
• Managing small design delivery teams to produce outputs to plan
• Mentoring and developing early career engineers
