Texas Website for Looking up Score updated

Recommended Posts

If you took the exam in Texas...

https://engineers.texas.gov/exam_check_grades.php

This can help people who didn't pass determine the cut score. A score of 70 reported by TBPE should be the cut score? Can anyone else confirm this?

I passed Civil Geotechnical and got a score of 81 on TBPE website.

Per TBPE:

§133.73 Examination Results and Analysis
(a) For each examinee that has completed the examination on the fundamentals of engineering or the examination on the principles and
practice of engineering, the board or NCEES shall provide a numerical score, if applicable, and an indication of whether the person passed
or failed the examination.
(b) For those exams or exam components with numerical scores, the passing score is 70.

That's correct - if your score doesn't say at least a 70 you will not pass (see §133.73(b) of the Act).

How they come up with that number is the real question.

That means that if someone gets the diagnostic and lets say gets 48/80 and then the TBPE page shows a score of 65 then the cutoff score should be 51.68 (52) is that correct?

It should be easy to get the cutoff scores for each examination.

Thats true. Can someone post the cut off score for MDM?

One would hope so.  Ideally, we round up three scores for the same exam (i.e. MDM) and see if the raw vs. scaled scores exhibit a linear relationship.

Check the different disciplines forums and may be there are enough scores from Texas to be able to determine.

Engineering Boards is actually lucky enough to have a poster who usually posts several of the cut off scores - so no calculating is needed.

This poster is extremely credible so no worries there.
