Seismic or surveying?

I passed seismic. I had passed surveying a while back and bombed on seismic my first time. Got it this time. I used the Hiner Seismic Review which I really recommend.

For those that passed seismic and are done with all of their tests, have you been added to the list of licensees? Just curious as it looks like the whole system was updated today

I still am not seeing my name show up.

Same. It'll probably be later this month or early next month, depending on when their licensing cycle is.

How many did you guess or feel unsure on if you remember? I'm just trying to gauge how much better I might need to do for a pass.

For surveying I used the CPESR manual (http://civilpesurveyingreview.com/) and the Reza manual (https://www.surveyingreview.com/).

The first time I took it I used just the CPESR one and it didn't feel like quite enough info. If you're only going to use one, I'd go with Reza.

For seismic, I took Hiner's course and bought practice exams from EET ($90). So all I brought in was the Heiner manual, codes, and the EET practice exam book. Passed on the first try.

I felt pretty good leaving the exam. I had about 30 minutes left to complete about 8 long problems, of which I think I got about 5/8 correct. I did educated guesses on about 5-7 I wasn't too sure about. I was confident on the rest and saw the tricks to the questions.

"... saw the tricks to the questions"!  There are no tricks in the questions.

Thank you, do you have the practice book ? is it for sale by any chance?

Ah sorry, my friend got dibs on the book. You can buy it straight from their website and it comes with the CBT versions of the practice exams. It's a online timed version of the exams that are similar to the exam day.

Is it just me, or did you find Reza's workbook to be significantly harder than the exam material?  Was tough studying from reza's workbook, since he didn't even explain how to do several of his own problems.  And then the solutions to the problems are not explained well enough to be followed.

It varied. Reza's problems went from really easy to really hard. I'd say the problems on the exam were easy to medium with a few being more difficult. I agree though that Reza doesn't do a great job of explaining his work and you have to try to figure out what he's doing in his solution.

There isn't a set amount of time. It just depends on when their licensing cycle is. I would guess no later than the first week of October though. @CAPLS Is there a set schedule on the licensing cycle?

Licensing lists are typically generated 1-2 times a month.

Haha thanks Tommy Tutone!

I know the studio session guitarist who played the bass lines on this recording.  Funny thing is that he didn't know about the record until years later and he recognized his portion.

To the two engineers who were added to the official directory and awarded license numbers: congratulations!

Also, I wonder what day they passed their exams. Turns out the issuance date listed is the same day that they're added to the public directory, so the lag is at least 28 days between passing exams and receiving a number.

I took and passed Surveying back in July. Also I took seismic Aug 6 and found out I passed on 9/10. (YAY!)

I saw that there are two new CE #s issued on 9/14. Any idea why I wouldn't have been issued a # on this date also? Has anyone who passed both this month received any correspondence from the board? I haven't received anything besides my notification that I passed each test individually.

Haven't received anything yet. I assume it'll be either at the end of this month or the beginning of the next one.

Just as an update, I got my license email today. Have a number now, but it doesn’t look like the site has been updated.

Got my license officially up on website. Thanks to everyone for the info and the congratulatory messages. I took my seismic exam on August 31st and am impressed with the turn around time on this.
