Would you like the opportunity to play a leading role working on the UK’s most advanced submarine platforms? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineering Manager working across multiple Southern sites.

 
As a Senior Engineering Manager you will be a specialist for several areas of the business, joining the Senior Delivery Team within Submarine Complex Systems and Support.

 
This newly created position will provide you with an opportunity to be heavily involved with the growth of the brand new Specialist Engineering Services capability within BAE Systems Maritime-Submarines.

 
 
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineering Manager will involve: 

 
Appropriate management of a common (across all submarine platform types) set of Non-Functional requirements, across Complex Systems & Support

 
Ensuring that requirements are written, interpreted correctly and contracted appropriately to BAE and within our sub-contracts, so that a minimal but complete set of requirements is established to deliver conforming, safe, and fit for purpose products and services

 
Managing the Information Assurance (security requirements and compliance) across all Complex Systems Support Products & Services, to defence/government standards, managing the Complex Systems & Support Functional Safety Management, requirements and compliance

 
Maintaining an overall view of applicable defence standards and managing standards rationalisation where appropriate. This may lead to proposition and agreement with our MoD customer of adjustments to these standards focused on ensuring our products and systems are competent and safe for use in the military (submarine) environment

 
Being responsible for gap analysis/comparison of UK and US Standards to support the assessment and utilisation of Government Furnished (GF) items within the scope of Complex Systems

 
Taking responsibility for identifying and communicating the applicable Legislation for all Complex Systems & Support products and services for example compliance within CE marking

 
Defining strategy for cost effective compliance in these areas with particular focus on use of COTS equipment made safe for use in our environment

 
 
Your skills and qualifications:
 
Essential:
 
Strong Submarine Engineering experience

 
Sound experience of systems engineering and resolution of complex problems

 
Defence industry experience

 
Proven leadership skills & engineering management experience

 
Ability to build and develop a team of SQEP

 
Desirable:
 
Requirements management knowledge
