CA Seismic Principles and Engineering Surveying Examinations

Recommended Posts

I have a PE license in state of Pennsylvania.  I need to take both seismic principles and engineering surveying exams in state of California in Spring or Fall of 2018.  What references, practice exams and outline courses should I study to prepare for these two tests in 2018?  I really appreciate your input.  Thanks!

Did you submit an application to the California Board and notified that you are approved?

Yes I did.  The CA board is already notified that I am a licensed PE in another state.  What I need is some advise from those who recently took and passed the seismic and survey exams to tell me what references and practice exams should I purchase to prepare myself for the examinations.  I surfed online and there are plenty of references.  I cannot afford to purchase all of these references nor I have time to read all of them in < than 1 year period before taking the tests.  Anyone's input on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Another vote for EET... I took their Seismic Course and can't say enough good things about the course and the instructor.

I also have an older Heiner workbook (based on IBC 2012). To be honest, not very different from the latest one.

I took EET - Seismic class, studied for maybe 2 months. Cannot recommend this enough! Felt very confident leaving the exam. Bought the Mansour surveying book/practice exams. Studied for about one week by going through the book/exams, felt fairly confident, and passed.
