You'll need to have the passion for innovation and interest in developing ideas to match.

As a Junior, Senior or Principal Human Factors Engineer, your main responsibilities will involve influencing future submarine design in order to optimise its performance by the crew. Specifically:

  • Conducting Human Machine Interface and Human Computer Interface assessment, gathering and developing evidence using CAD Tools and full scale control room mock-ups and simulators
  • Carrying out task, workload, situation awareness, and human reliability analysis
  • Conducting Submarine workspace analysis and design
  • Undertaking Safety Case design
  • Developing Manpower and Target Audience
  • Conducting Health Hazard assessment

As a Human Factors Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Previous experience as a Human Factors Practitioner
  • AND/OR a Degree in Human Factors / Ergonomics or equivalent
  • An engineering or technical background, ideally with relevant industry experience (depending of the level of the role)

You will need to report your findings and proposals to various audiences so require strong communication skills with the ability to explain specialist information clearly and concisely.
