I might be over thinking this simple concept, but I would like for it to be automatic come test time.

Below are the equations that I have come up with for BCY, LCY, and CCY while working example problems

Do these look correct? Any changes or other suggestions?

BCY = bank cubic yards

LCY = loose cubic yards

CCY = compacted cubic yards

Sw = swell factor

Sh = shrinkage factor

BCY = LCY / (1 + Sw)

or

BCY = CCY / (1 – Sh)

LCY = (1 + Sw) * (BCY)

or

LCY = CCY / [(1 - Sh) / (1 + Sw)]

CCY = (1 – Sh) * (BCY)

or

CCY = LCY * [(1 - Sh) / (1 + Sw)]
