  1. I took and passed the Texas PE exam in April 2017. I submitted my application in late June (6/28), and submitted other supporting materials (including reference letters) in early July. All required materials (ethic exam, background check, transcripts, references, SER, etc) are shown as "received" as of 7/14, but the application webpage has stayed at "admin review" ever since. It's stuck at admin review for more than 20 days. Does it usually take so long for admin review? Just curious if anyone on this board has recently submitted the application in Texas? How long does it take for admin review, technical review and to get approval? Thank you
  2. Hello, I have a question about SE exam. I am a registered EIT in Texas since 2014. In April 2017 I took the PE Civil Structural exam from Texas and passed. I registered for PE Structural by using the decoupling rule. I have 2 years of experience under the guidance of a PE but did not apply to TBPE separately to allow me to sit for PE instead I registered through NCEES website and they approved registration. Is this decoupling rule valid for taking SE exam as well (if I register in Texas)? Thanks

Hello, I passed the test and score shown on TBPE is 81. How do I know how many questions I had correct? Is it 81*80/100 = 65 ?

  5. Greetings from Malaysia. Civil Engineer working mainly on Water Loss reduction for the past 7 years. BEng (UK, 2005) ; MSc (UK, 2011) Planning to move to USA. Quick question: Should I take my PE in my home country before leaving for USA? Or just focus on FE and PE in the states?
  6. Dear fellow engineers, This is my third post on this website and I thank you immensely for your support. I hope I'll be able to grow as an engineer and contribute to this great community. A year ago, I graduated from a foreign university in the middle east. I majored in Mechatronics Engineering. I moved to the US 4 months after graduation and I currently reside in Texas. I accredited my credentials, passed the FE exam and got my EIT certificate. It has been approximately 50 days since my certificate arrived by mail, and I have been sending out applications ever since. The only experience I have is a 2 month training at an industrial automation firm back in my home country; which doesn't count for much here in the US, I assume. Anyway, If it is hard to get a paid internship post graduation, I am in a position that would allow me to work for free for 3 months, if it's the only way to prove my competence. My question is, How do I go about this? Should I mention this in my resume? Cover letter? If anyone has any experience regarding internships post graduation, unpaid work or any other option that would benefit someone like me, I would greatly appreciate your input! Thanks guys!
