  1. I live in the phoenix area and have not been able to find a classroom setting for a mechanical PE review course. I failed the October test and feel like I need more structure when I’m studying. Therefore I have been researching Live online Mechanical PE review courses and seem to have found only these two that are being offered for the spring 2012 test. - School of PE - - Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers (They are offering a spring course and say the info should be up next week sometime) - Has anyone taken either of these and can comment on the positives and negatives? Just as background here are other ones I found and ruled out: - Testmasters-no online option for mechanical - Kaplan – sells CDs no online version - PPI – CDs, classes in CA, no online course - Irvine institute of technology is not offering a spring course - - University of Delaware – Course already started in November

  5. I passed the principles and practice exam in Illinois before I had my required experience in. I passed in Oct 2010 and had my required experience complete in May 2011. I have heard that other states will not accept my professional engineer license to be transferred to their state because of this. Has anyone else heard this or run into a situation where this was the case? If so, do you have a list of states that will not allow my license to transfer to their state without retaking the principles and practice exam? TIA!
  6. While I continue to WAIT for my PE results, I have started to wonder about some RUMORS I have heard and was hoping someone on here can clarify them for me. I am new to North Carolina and just sat for the Civil/Transpo exam for the first time (October 2011). I have heard two consistent rumors since I moved to North Carolina: Rumor #1: The NC Board establishes their own cut score after given the scores from NCEES. (I don't believe this is true due to the timing of the scores, I would just like to hear it from someone.) Rumor #2: It doesn't matter if you aced your depth module and one or two sections of your breadth module, you have to correctly answer a certain percentage in each of the sections of the breadth exam to 'Pass' the exam. On a side note, how is it that NCEES posts a 69% pass rate for first time takers (40% for repeat takers) yet I see some states have a overall 50-60% pass rate? Are there that many repeat takers or do some states have a 70-90% pass rate to bring up the average? Any help would be appreciated and would help to ease my nerves. Thank you.
  7. Hi all: I passed the civil/sanitary PE exam on my first attempt, along with the CA special sections for seismic and surveying. I have some books for sale that might be useful for someone else now. These were very useful for me in passing the test, and I highly recommend them to anyone taking the test. I am a very careful user, so even if I read the books, you would think these were brand new. I don't mark/highlight or fold pages. Coming from a smoke-free home, these books are without marks, dings, tears, highlights, shelf wear, or anything that would make you think this was not a new book.
