New York License Watch April 2018

Saw this thread in the October 2017 section and figured I'd start one up for this round. Any other New Yorkers impatiently waiting to have a license issued?

New York License Watch April 2018

NY-Computer-Engineer also pointed out something in his other thread I just noticed, initially the NYS website said 4-6 weeks until licenses would be issued, then a couple weeks ago they changed the website to read 6-8 weeks, and now they just changed it again to simply read 8 weeks. They issued 1 license on 7/18 and 1 license on 7/19, none so far today, I guess it takes an 8 hour work day to enter each result? The other states really put NY to shame on this one.

I "need" my NY License number

The website initially said 4-6 weeks and they changed it to 6-8 weeks, didn't realize until you posted this that they just changed it to 8 weeks

Well at the end of the day the exact percentage doesn't matter, we're still among the highest taxed states with on of the least effective state government. Oh and as of today they're into the P's, still no license for me yet

So far today they've issued 20 more licenses but are back in the L's as pretty much every name today was an L name

New York License Watch April 2018

I tried calling yesterday, was put on hold for 40 minutes before I gave up, emailed the engineering office at the office of the professions, they said they forwarded my questions to the processing unit and apologized for their (the processing unit's) delay. So it seems that it's not the engineering licensing office that's the cause of the delay its the license processing unit for the office of the professions.

New York License Watch April 2018

As of now they have issued 31 licenses today, they made it from Hs and looks to have made it into the Ms still going alphabeticallyi. Today was the first day they issued licenses since the 3rd, looks like I’ve still got a long wait to go. NYs website says it should take 4-6weeks after the notice of passing for them to issue the licenses, were coming up on 8 weeks right now

Seems as of 7/3 they are still in the H's with some random M's D's and C's mixed in, at this rate maybe I'll get my license around the time of the fall exam?

I mean we only have some of the highest state income taxes of anywhere in the country (we have over 8%, while 7 states don't even have a state income tax btw), so I guess it's asking too much for them to be at least in the same region of efficiency of other states that operate on a fraction of the budget they have.

I'm all the way down in the alphabet, they added 1 person yesterday, they were in the F's but the one random person yesterday was an S? IDK how every other states can all have it within a week of results but in NY we're over a month later now and still very few have gotten their licenses? Especially because they review all your experience and FE results before giving you permission to even sit for the PE exam, so what exactly are they reviewing at this point?

Damn, I think I've still got some time to wait, I'm pretty far down in the alphabet

099514-099531 were all last names beginning in B (not alphabetical order but all B last names), 099509-099513 were A names, idk if there it any kind of order but that'd be a weird coincidence

New York License Watch April 2018

you're right they are going alphabetical, they're in the B's

New York License Watch April 2018

Currently up to 099531, almost everyone since 099500 has been a NY licensee, think they may be starting on the new licenses

They're up to 099447 now, and its still like a 50-50 mix of NY and far from NY licensees

They're still at 74, but I'm seeing like 2/3 of the new ones are out of state, like Michigan, California, etc. I'm wondering if these are new licensees or reciprocity? But some of them are NY licensees so idk

    Structures depth reference material

EET went in to really good depth on all of those, before taking the test I'd almost thought too much depth, but it was very useful, and there were a few questions they didn't cover, but they made me familiar enough with the code to find even the things I hadn't learned.

    EET Civil- Structural

April 2018 was my first attempt, I took EET breadth and depth. I thought the morning was a breeze and honestly feel it was possible I got all 40 right and my only studying for it was EET's course and tabbing/highlighting the CERM. The PM while more difficult did have some curveball questions that they didn't prepare us for, but I don't think you could expect any review course to prepair you for those questions(they were honestly just very detail specific code questions). As a whole I felt confident about the PM and the questions that I didn't expect for most of them the answer could be found word for word in the code, it was just a matter of finding it. I did all practice problems that EET provided, attended every online class, went back through the notes a second time and highlighted and color coded tabbed it by sub topics, and then I went through every reference code in the 2 weeks before the exam and color coded tabbed them to match the tabs I had in my EET binder, it made it easier so that if I couldn't find a solution in EET's binder I went directly to the code to the relevant section and then I had a starting point to try to find the actual line of code that was relevant to the question at hand.

    PE Civil Structural 2018 - October 2018 - California

If you can afford it I highly recommend EET. April 2018 was my first attempt, they made the morning a breeze, and the afternoon even though there were a handful of curveball problems, their practice problems made me familiar enough with the codes to find a lot of those questions in them.

099349 was just issued today, and it's a New York licensee. Wonder if this is the start of the new licenses?

New York License Watch April 2018

Yeah it looks like last time when it was the new PEs they added them in batches of like 25 a day
  23. First time taking the exam and passed, used EET for the breadth and structural depth, and passed. But I did do EVERY practice problem they had plus other books and practice exams

    Celebrating and Venting About Results

Also for the person asking about EET I took the breadth and structural depth from them, made the morning a breeze, the afternoon there were a few curveball questions but I don’t think anyone could’ve prepared you for those but as a whole I even felt good after the afternoon. They give you a ton of detail in the depth topics along with tons of practice problems that are very good

    Celebrating and Venting About Results

Woot just saw my results, passed PE civil-structural first try in New York. Of course I was checking hourly every day the last 2 weeks but today I was at maple grove dragway getting test runs in for my drag car all day. Didn’t know they were posted until it randomly popped in my head I hadn’t checked all day. Good day all around!
