  1. I passed! So If by chance anyone in the Atlanta area is looking for the whole package, I have the MERM, Shigleys, NCEES '16 Practice Exam, NCEES '12 Practice Exam, a Statistics reference, plus a few various reference sheets (Welding symbols, MD&M symbols). Comes with spare calculator, NCEES Pencil from April 2017 exam, and mobile folding cart. All for $300, or whatever you think is fair? Feel free to hit me up with any questions. Thanks!

  3. MD&M Problem #125

    Ahh. Thank you!
  4. MD&M Problem #125

    Sorry, 2*36
  5. MD&M Problem #125

Thank you so much. So to solve for the secondary shear = M*r / J , what area is J being calculated for, that would give a value of "2"?
  6. MD&M Problem #125

Hi all, I know it's last minute, but I'm stuck on understanding where this solution is coming from. I solved the problem using the equations from MERM 53-18. I know that shear = F*e*r / J where J = r^2 * A So what I don't understand is where the book is getting a value of "2" for A. According to MERM, A is the area of the bolt, which in this case should be .1419? Any help/insight would be much appreciated!!!
