    SE Tittle

Sorry there was a typo in the earlier post. I need suggestion regarding which state to apply to get SE tittle. A little about me, I have a California PE and I have 3.5 yrs of design experience. I passed the SE exam today and I want to apply asap to get SE tittle. I live in Texas and the state doesn't have SE recognition as far as I know. Also in California, I can't get SE license for another 2 yrs since the state requires you to have 3 yrs on top of California PE. Can somebody suggest me a state where I can get the tittle and license, considering my experience level is not like 5 yrs or so? Any information regarding this will be really helpful. Thanks.

  5. Passed both vertical and lateral second try. Done with the exam. Congrats to all who passed. Good luck to all who couldnt. Keep studying, it can be done.
  6. Quick question....Does acceptable means passed? I dont want to runn to my boss and tell him that I passed and then find out that doesnt mean pass. In PE result we got passed.
  7. I passed..both vertical and lateral..second time. First time I failed both since I didn't study anything since I took PE in the previous session and thought SE would be piece of cake. Bottom line is you need to study to pass this exam. Thank you guys for answering all my questions and support. You guys are awesome!!!!
  8. May be they will release the results for Non-PCS states today.
  9. Are we getting our results today?
  10. I can't wait anymore......ahhh. How long it is going to take them to issue the results....

    CA Results

Congrats! You can check your license number on the board website. I took it last year and there wasn't a background check or fingerprinting. I heard this year, they issue a license after background check and finger prints. The board sends a letter with the license number also, so watch out for that.
  12. Can somebody provide me a review on school of PE? How is their SE review course, in terms of structure? Do they have practice problems and solved examples?
  13. I couldn't agree more. I don't mind paying for such a course, if it is custom built for specific areas like problem solving. For instance this past exam, I realized that I knew the material and the code references but I was falling short on speed. I realize speed comes when you solve problems.
  14. Well I agree with you that this exam is much about comprehension as it is about speed. That being said, I am not saying that I don't want to learn theory. I just realized this past April when I took the exam that I had the concepts locked down, but time was the issue. The part of the reason was not solving enough problems to skip writing irrelevant steps in the afternoon part.
  15. Ya I heard same things about Kaplan (old name) that it is a good review course for certain areas but it lacks solved examples and practice problems. I don't want to learn too much theory, just want to see as many problems as I can. I hope if somebody can share their EET experience, I am really interested in that.
